What About Me?
I've been in the tea business since 2004 when I began taking classes and learning everything I could about tea. I was driven to do this, first, because I have a history in herbal wellness. Yes, tea is an herb! Second, because in 2004 my bestie Maxine Shear and I started on a journey to open a full service tea salon in Old Sacramento. As life would have it, twists, turns, and speed bumps led me to Pioneer where my husband, Kevin French, and I opened Possibili-Teas-- one of the true gifts of my life (both Kevin and the tea shop)!
I've been a writer all my life. I like nothing better than to tell a story that is character driven. I love characters that are real, with all their warts, some hidden, some out there for the world to observe. My books don't always have a happily ever after ending... but then, that's life. There's sometimes a little mystery, a little romance, a little humor and sometimes sadness and despair. As I said, that's life, a smorgasbord of emotions and experiences.
As an only child who spent the first few years of my life confined due to illness, I found imagination to be my playmate. I learned to observe and make up stories about the people with whom I came in contact at a distance. Always feeling somewhat an outsider, it's been a good position to feed my need for writing fodder.
We all have a story and I try to tell the story of my characters with all the experiences that make them who they are and why they do the things they do. I hope I convey something you can relate to in my stories. If not, I hope they take you away for a while to escape into another space. You can find all of my books on my Amazon Author's Page.
Writing and tea are not so different. First of all, they both feed my soul. Second, when you write (or read), you are taking time for self... the same with tea.
